Losing most of your teeth is a slow story for some people and a sudden one for others. Either way, the question becomes the same: what now. At Lake Park Dental in Milwaukee, All-on-X replaces a full arch of teeth on four to six implants, planned in 3D so the bite, the bone, and the final look are all considered before surgery day. Here's how it works and what to expect.

WHEN YOU NEED ALL-ON-X

Most people who ask about All-on-X have been living with the problem for a while. Loose teeth that move when they chew. A denture that clicks, slips, or has to come out at meals. A row of failing teeth held together by old crowns and hope. Some patients are facing the loss of an arch and want to know the options before extractions, not after. You may have been told you'd need 8 or 10 implants. You may have been told you couldn't have implants at all. Both are worth a second look.

There's no medical clock on this. But the longer an arch goes without teeth or with failing teeth, the more the bone underneath shrinks. That changes what's possible later. The right time isn't when something hurts. The right time is when you've decided you're done managing it. A scan and a conversation will tell you whether All-on-X fits your case — and what it would take to get there.

OUR ALL-ON-X PROCESS

The first visit is an evaluation. We take a CBCT scan to see the bone in three dimensions and an iTero scan to map your bite, because guessing on a full arch has a cost you can't undo. From those scans, Dr. Schneiss plans where each implant should sit — usually four to six per arch, angled to land in the strongest bone you have. On surgery day, any failing teeth are removed, the implants are placed using the 3D plan, and a temporary set of teeth is attached the same day. Sedation is available across the full spectrum, from nitrous to IV.

You leave with teeth. The temporary arch lets the implants heal under load for the next few months while you eat, talk, and live normally. Once the bone has fused, we place the final arch — designed to match your face, your bite, and the way you want to look. Then it's just teeth again.

UNDERSTANDING THE COST OF ALL-ON-X

All-on-X pricing depends on the case — how many arches, how much bone is there, whether you want zirconia or another material, and whether sedation is part of the plan. After your evaluation in Milwaukee, you receive a written treatment plan with every fee listed before any work begins. No moving numbers. No surprises at checkout. Lake Park Dental is a fee-for-service practice and provides detailed receipts for insurance reimbursement. Cherry and Care Credit financing are available if you'd like to spread payments out. The next step is information. From there, the decision is yours.

Why Choose LAKE park dental

Full-arch implant work rewards planning and punishes shortcuts. Place the implants in the wrong angle and the final teeth fight the bite. Place them without checking the bone and the case fails years later. Dr. Schneiss is among the 6% of US dentists holding both an AGD Fellowship and an AAID Associate Fellowship — the latter earned specifically in implant dentistry. Every All-on-X case is mapped in 3D before surgery day, with metal-free zirconia available for patients who want it. This is what we do. We do it carefully.

Frequently Asked Questions about All-on-X FAQs

Why is it called All-on-X instead of All-on-4 or All-on-6?

1

The "X" stands for the number of implants — usually four or six per arch, depending on your bone and your bite. Some cases need four, some need six, and a few need more. The scan tells us which one fits you.

Will I leave the office without teeth?

2

No. A temporary arch is attached the same day as surgery, so you walk out with a full set of teeth. The final arch is placed a few months later, after the implants have fused with the bone.

How long will All-on-X last?

3

The implants themselves are built to last decades when placed in healthy bone and cared for. The arch on top may need maintenance or eventual replacement, the way any heavily used restoration does. Cleanings and check-ups keep both parts going.

What if I've been told I don't have enough bone for implants?

4

That answer often changes when the case is replanned in 3D. Angled implants, bone grafting, or a sinus lift can sometimes make All-on-X possible where standard implants weren't. The CBCT scan is what tells us for sure.
